Green marble is a metamorphic natural stone formed from recrystallised limestone rich in serpentine minerals. Its signature green colour — ranging from soft sage and forest tones to deep emerald — comes from chlorite, serpentine, and silicate minerals embedded over millions of years. The result is a dense, compact stone that is notably harder and more durable than most other decorative marbles worldwide.
Indian green marble stands apart from other green stones globally. It does not fade in colour, does not oxidise, and does not warp — making it a long-term investment for both residential and commercial projects. Whether used in full-room flooring, feature walls, bathroom vanity tops, or kitchen countertops, it brings a natural harmony and timeless elegance to any space.
“Indian green marble has earned a permanent place in global architecture — admired by designers, builders, and homeowners across more than 75 countries for its unmatched density, consistent colour, and timeless appeal.”
Where Is Green Marble Quarried in India?
India is home to one of the world’s largest green marble deposits. The primary quarrying zones are concentrated in the Aravalli mountain range, in the districts of Udaipur and Dungarpur in south-west Rajasthan. The Kesariyajee region of Udaipur and adjoining areas of Dungarpur are particularly known for high-grade deposits, first discovered in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Today, nearly 300 active quarry leases operate in the region. A second important variety — Rainforest Green — comes from quarries near Bidaser, approximately 250 km from Jaipur in north-east Rajasthan. Anil Export is headquartered in Udaipur, placing us at the very heart of India’s green marble belt — ensuring direct quarry access, consistent quality, and competitive pricing with no middlemen.
Varieties of Green Marble We Supply
Green marble from Rajasthan varies in tone and texture from one region to another. Anil Export supplies these key commercial varieties:

Type 2 — Green Base with White Veins
- Rainforest Green Marble — Rich green base with dramatic flowing white veins. One of India’s most popular export varieties — widely used in hotels, mosques, and corporate spaces globally.
- Verde Guatemala Marble — The internationally recognised trade name for Indian serpentine green marble. Exceptional hardness and superior polishability.

- Oasis Green — Consistent medium green with soft white ripples — a calm, balanced tone suited to residential interiors.
Extraction and Processing at Anil Export
Modern quarrying uses state-of-the-art machinery — chain saws, wire saws, boring machines, and heavy earth-moving equipment. This mechanised approach ensures large, consistent block sizes, meaning large-format slabs are available without joins. Blocks from Rajasthan’s quarries are among the largest available for any green stone globally.
At Anil Export’s processing facility in Udaipur, raw blocks are transformed into finished products using gang saws, automatic polishing lines, bridge cutting machines, fully automated tiling plants, and epoxy treatment lines. We produce both slabs and tiles under one roof.

Applications of Green Marble
Green marble’s versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of architectural and interior design applications. It has been used in palaces, luxury hotels, corporate offices, mosques, and high-end residential villas across the world. Common applications include:
- Flooring in homes, hotels, offices, and commercial lobbies
- Wall cladding and feature accent walls
- Bathroom countertops, vanity units, and shower surrounds
- Kitchen countertops and island tops
- Staircase treads, risers, and balustrades
- Exterior facades and landscape stone features
- Custom furniture tops, decorative panels, and architectural inlays
Green Marble pairs exceptionally well with white, gold, brass, and charcoal-toned materials — creating striking contrasts that highlight its natural patterns. An entire floor in green marble creates an immersive, biophilic atmosphere favoured in luxury hospitality design.

- Seal the surface upon installation; re-seal every 1–2 years depending on traffic and exposure.
- Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid acidic or abrasive products.
- Wipe spills promptly — particularly acidic liquids — to prevent surface etching.
- Use felt pads under furniture legs on marble floors to prevent scratching.
- For exterior applications, choose a honed or flamed finish which performs better outdoors.
